For a long time I had a picture of this quote pinned on a wall at my desk as a helpful reminder that stress doesn’t equal productivity or happiness.
It is an idea that I believe is lost on too many people, especially women. We feel better the more we get “done,” the more tasks we can check off our list and the more fires we can put out.
But, this can and will burn you out. When you’re constantly draining your own resources, you’re not being as productive as you can be. Free time fuels the creativity and focus needed for success. Idleness actually allows your brain to function better.
