weVENTURE and LEAD Brevard Partner to Bring Women’s Leadership Series

MELBOURNE, FLA. (January 20, 2017) – weVENTURE, the Central Florida-based organization launched at Florida Institute of Technology and focused on accelerating sustainable business growth for entrepreneurs, in a new partnership with LEAD Brevard, the county’s foremost organization for community leadership development, is bringing the ATHENA NextGen Women’s Thought Leadership Series to Brevard County, sponsored by Wells Fargo.

The ATHENA NextGen program is a collaborative forum where female participants enhance their professional and personal development skills through a series of eight sessions, one morning each month. The program utilizes the ATHENA Leadership Model® with eight distinct attributes – Authentic Self, Relationships, Giving Back, Collaboration, Courageous Acts, Learning, Fierce Advocacy, Celebration and Joy. This program is designed as a professional development and leadership skills learning opportunity by women for women. Local leaders will deliver workshop-style presentations based on their own experiences around one of the leadership attributes listed above.

The class kicks off on March 23rd at Suntree Country Club with a session on collaboration led by Kristin Bakke, President of LEAD Brevard and Erica Lemp, weVENTURE executive director.

Bakke says “LEAD Brevard’s mission is working together to strengthen our community by inspiring people to lead and this partnership with weVENTURE benefiting aspiring leaders and connecting them to other leaders makes sense as we work to expand leadership in our community”.

The early bird price to join the ATHENA program is $499 for the series including breakfasts and materials until January 31st and raises to $599 on February 1st.
